Day 30: Don't rock the dragon boats.

Today was something known as the dragon boat parade in the Tai O fishing village. Further, today was a public holiday so I got the day off work, which is nice. Let me say this particular cultural experience was one of the coolest I have seen. You have to understand my favorite part of trips aren't necessarily the big tourist draws. Yes, I enjoy them but far more interesting is the daily life of the areas residents. Even more interesting is going out and seeing people that don't necessarily deal with tourists. That was one my favorite parts when I went to Costa Rica, my wife and I travelled around the town near our resort. Here it is the same. The small fishing village of Tai O was by far the most interesting. Seriously it was awesome. You have to come to Hong Kong and it has to be when the dragon boars are racing. It's totally awesome. Also, I ate two things while I was there a honey Taiwan sausage, delicious, and a fish ball--a deep fried ball of fish meat on a stick--dipped in a curry sauce. I wanted to die that thing was so tasty. I want another.
